Representatives of Khmelnytskyi National University paid a working visit to the Khmelnytskyi Municipal Water Utility to learn about modern approaches to the automation of production processes, the digitalisation of engineering infrastructure management, and to discuss prospects for further cooperation between the university and the utility.
The delegation included Kateryna Skyba, Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical work and International Relations; Olha Yefremova, Head of the Department of Ecology and Biological Education; Liudmyla Koretska, Head of the Department of Automation, Computer-Integrated Technologies and Robotics; Valerii Martyniuk, Professor of the same department; Andrii Selskyi, Associate Professor; Oleksandr Sporyi and Platon Plakhotniuk, Teaching Assistants of the department; as well as Vadym Kyryliuk, Engineer at the KhNU Energy Efficiency Centre.


During the meeting, Oleksandr Nadolnyi, Director of the Khmelnytskyi Municipal Water Utility, and Oleh Volodin, Head of the IT Technologies Service, together with their colleagues, introduced the university representatives to the utility’s operations and the results of implementing modern digital technologies. Particular attention was paid to the automation of production processes, the use of dispatching and monitoring systems, and digital solutions that ensure efficient management of water supply and wastewater infrastructure.

The participants of the visit familiarised themselves with the practical application of digital monitoring, dispatching, and production management tools and discussed prospects for the further digital transformation of municipal infrastructure. Special interest was shown in issues related to the automation of technological processes, the implementation of intelligent control systems, energy efficiency, and the use of modern IT solutions to improve service quality.

An important part of the meeting was devoted to discussing opportunities for knowledge exchange and best-practice sharing between the university and the utility, the development of practice-oriented student training, joint research activities, and the implementation of innovative projects. Particular attention was also paid to prospects for participation in international grant programs aimed at advancing digital technologies, automation, energy efficiency, and the sustainable development of urban infrastructure.

The participants additionally discussed opportunities for cooperation between the Khmelnytskyi Municipal Water Utility and the Energy Efficiency Centre of Khmelnytskyi National University in the fields of energy management, resource consumption monitoring, data analysis, and the implementation of modern technological solutions for the municipal sector.

Such meetings strengthen partnerships between the university and enterprises that form part of the community’s critical infrastructure, create new opportunities for training competitive specialists, and open the way for implementing joint scientific and international initiatives.
