On 27, 28, and 31 July 2026, representatives of the International Relations Office of Khmelnytskyi National University participated in the Horizon Europe Proposal Writing Camp for Ukraine—an online training camp dedicated to preparing project proposals for calls under the Horizon Europe Programme. The event was designed to enhance participants' practical skills in developing high-quality and competitive grant applications.
During the three intensive training days, participants worked through all the key stages of preparing a project proposal. The programme covered the Horizon Europe Work Programmes for 2026–2027, the process of identifying suitable funding opportunities on the Funding & Tenders Portal, analysing call documentation, and assessing the alignment of project ideas with the objectives of selected calls.
The first day of the camp focused on the current opportunities offered by the Horizon Europe Programme for Ukrainian researchers. Participants learned about Ukraine's current status in the programme, the structure of the 2026–2027 Horizon Europe Work Programmes, and the effective use of the Funding & Tenders Portal. They also gained practical experience in analysing call texts, identifying eligibility requirements, expected impacts, and evaluation criteria. The practical session included group work on analysing call topics and developing concepts for future project proposals.
The second day concentrated on the structure of a project proposal and the logic behind its evaluation by European Commission experts. Participants explored the principles of defining expected outcomes and performance indicators, developing research methodologies, communication strategies, and dissemination plans. The practical component involved collaborative work on drafting individual proposal sections, followed by expert feedback.
The final day focused on the practical aspects of project implementation. Participants worked on developing work plans, designing work packages, defining the roles of consortium partners, and preparing project budgets in accordance with the Horizon Europe rules. Additional sessions addressed grant agreements, project amendment procedures, and funding opportunities under the Widening programme, the European Innovation Council (EIC), and the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA), including Postdoctoral Fellowships, Staff Exchanges, and Doctoral Networks.
The knowledge and experience gained during the training will provide a valuable foundation for the further development of international projects, the expansion of partnerships with foreign institutions, and the preparation of competitive grant proposals that will create new opportunities for the growth of Khmelnytskyi National University.
