On 15 April, the Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work of Khmelnytskyi National University, Kateryna Skyba, took part in the online presentation of the Institute of International Scientific Ambassadors. This initiative, launched by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, aims to elevate the international cooperation of Ukrainian higher education institutions to a new level.

The main idea behind the newly established institute is to build systematic interaction with the Ukrainian scientific diaspora. It involves creating a network of experienced researchers working at leading foreign institutions while maintaining strong professional ties with their homeland. Such scholars act as “bridges”, helping Ukrainian higher education institutions integrate into the global scientific community, find reliable partners, and strengthen Ukraine’s presence on the international stage.

During the event, representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science explained in detail the mechanisms of cooperation between ambassadors and Ukrainian universities. Particular attention was paid to practical benefits, including expanded access to international grant programmes, participation in joint research projects, and new opportunities for academic mobility of staff and students. For Khmelnytskyi National University, this opens up additional opportunities to attract investment and exchange experience with international colleagues.

Participation in this presentation was an important step for KhNU in its strategic planning for international activities. The knowledge gained about state instruments for supporting scientific diplomacy will enable the university not only to use existing contacts more effectively, but also to confidently enter new formats of cooperation.

In conclusion, engagement in the scientific ambassadors initiative will be an important step in realising the scientific potential of Khmelnytskyi National University, creating real opportunities for the development of the entire university community.
