Development of International Cooperation of the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering with Educational Institutions in India

The development of international cooperation and participation in interdisciplinary research opens new opportunities to integrate scientists from the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering into the global community, a key factor in collaboration between researchers and industry representatives. On 5 March 2026, an international workshop on innovative and technical textiles was held at Manikya Lal Verma Textile Engineering College, a branch of Rajasthan Technical University (MLVTEC, India), dedicated to contemporary scientific developments and materials in the textile industry.

The event brought together scientists, researchers, government representatives, and industry experts from across the world. Participants presented the results of their research, discussed current challenges in the field, and outlined prospects for the further development of textile technologies. Head of the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Professor Olha Paraska, presented research results in textile chemistry and engineering. Particular attention was given to the introduction of modern eco-friendly materials, green chemistry, innovative production methods, the development of textile engineering, and the implementation of interdisciplinary research. These directions are especially important in the context of global environmental challenges, as they help reduce the textile industry's negative environmental impact, lower resource consumption, and minimise waste generation. The use of environmentally safe materials and the application of green chemistry principles enable the production of goods that meet international sustainable development standards.

Professor Olha Paraska also familiarised herself with the structure of MLVTEC, its academic and scientific laboratories in textile chemistry, and the projects being carried out by the Textile Research Centre. In particular, she studied innovative production technologies that enhance process efficiency, improve the quality of textile products, and increase industry competitiveness.

To establish cooperation between Khmelnytskyi National University and Manikya Lal Verma Textile Engineering College (MLVTEC), a memorandum of cooperation was signed. The memorandum was signed by Khmelnytskyi National University Rector Serhii Matiukh and MLVTEC Director Arvind Vashistha. Within the framework of this partnership, joint scientific research, student and faculty academic exchanges, and the implementation of innovative projects in textile technologies and engineering are planned.

The expansion of cooperation between the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering and foreign educational institutions opens new opportunities for experience exchange, improving the quality of education, and developing the scientific potential of Khmelnytskyi National University researchers at the international level.
