Professor Olha Paraska Advances International Research Cooperation at the 2026 China–CEEC Conference on Innovation Cooperation

Professor Olha Paraska, Head of the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at Khmelnytskyi National University (KhNU), Doctor of Technical Sciences, participated in the events of the anniversary international 2026 China–CEEC Conference on Innovation Cooperation and the III Symposium on Advanced Fibrous Materials, held at Zhejiang Sci-Tech University in Hangzhou, China, from 7 to 14 September 2026. The international conference was organised with the support of the Ministry of Science and Technology of China and the Ministry of Economy of Slovakia.

The 2026 China–CEEC Conference on Innovation Cooperation and the III Symposium on Advanced Fibrous Materials brought together around 450 representatives of academia, education, industry, diplomatic and governmental institutions, entrepreneurs, and young professionals from 64 countries, including China and Central and Eastern European countries. The key topics included international innovation cooperation, joint research, technology transfer, and the commercialisation of research results.

Professor Olha Paraska was invited to join the conference's Scientific Committee and served as an invited speaker, presenting a talk titled “Cross-dimensional innovative technology of bio-functionalization of textiles”. The presentation highlighted research conducted at KhNU and provided an opportunity to discuss prospects for international cooperation and establish professional contacts with representatives of universities, research institutions, and industrial companies from China and Central and Eastern Europe. Particular attention was given to the EDIH “Clothing Technology & Textile Hub” (CLOTEX-HUB) project, successfully implemented at the Faculty of Technologies and Design under Grant Agreement No. 101191415 – CLOTEX-HUB – DIGITAL-2023-EDIH-04.

The discussions also focused on the role of international research cooperation in addressing global challenges, including climate change, energy security, digital transformation, and sustainable development. Participants emphasised the importance of strengthening cooperation based on the university–research–business model, developing joint innovation projects, and establishing long-term partnerships between research and industrial ecosystems across different countries.

Professor Olha Paraska's participation in the 2026 China–CEEC Conference on Innovation Cooperation and the III Symposium on Advanced Fibrous Materials contributes to the international positioning of Khmelnytskyi National University and the promotion of its research potential in chemical technology, textile chemistry, functional materials, green chemistry, and sustainable technologies.

An important outcome of the participation was the establishment of new research contacts and discussions on opportunities for joint research, academic mobility for students of the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, preparation of international projects, and technology transfer. These activities strengthen KhNU's integration into the global research community and open up new opportunities for implementing joint innovation initiatives.
