
Liubov Mahas, a first-year Master’s student at the Department of Germanic Philology and Translation Studies, has been awarded a scholarship under the international programme “Future Ukraine: Research Grants (DAAD)”. This achievement opens the door to intensive study and research at a leading German higher education institution.
The programme provides for a six-month research internship (from 1 May to 31 October 2026) at Technische Universität Berlin. The research will be conducted under the academic supervision of a renowned specialist, Professor Thorsten Roelcke.
Liubov Mahas’s success is the result of her strong academic performance and the relevance of her Master’s thesis topic: “English- and German-language Sociological Terminology: Structural-Semantic, Linguo-Pragmatic and Translation Aspects”., Academic supervisor:. The selection of participants was carried out by an independent panel of German professors, who evaluated the quality of the research project and the professional potential of the applicants.
The “Future Ukraine” programme is a scholarship initiative of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) aimed at supporting talented Ukrainian Master’s students, doctoral candidates, and researchers. The project promotes:
- the implementation of individual research projects;
- access to modern European research infrastructure;
- the strengthening of academic and scientific cooperation between Ukraine and Germany.
Receiving such a scholarship is an important milestone in the development of a young researcher. It not only fosters individual academic potential but also enhances the international reputation of Khmelnytskyi National University, integrating Ukrainian scholarship into the global academic space.
