Cooperation between Khmelnytskyi National University (KhNU) and the Khmelnytskyi Municipal Water Utility continues to develop. On 2 July, representatives of the University visited the utility to present modern European approaches to improving urban water supply systems and to outline the prospects for their implementation in Khmelnytskyi.
The KhNU delegation included Kateryna Skyba, Vice-Rector for Research and Teaching; Valerii Martyniuk, Professor of the Department of Automation, Computer-Integrated Technologies and Robotics and Head of the KhNU Energy Efficiency Centre; and Oleksandr Sporyi, Assistant at the Department of Automation, Computer-Integrated Technologies and Robotics.
During the presentation, participants were introduced to innovative technologies that are currently being actively adopted by European water and wastewater utilities. The University representatives presented modern solutions in digital network monitoring, intelligent water resource management, energy efficiency, and automated technological processes. Particular attention was paid to the possibilities of adapting these technologies to the needs of the city of Khmelnytskyi and to their potential implementation through joint scientific, practical, and international projects.
The meeting was held in a constructive and open atmosphere. Representatives of both the University and the utility actively engaged in discussions, exchanged professional experience, asked questions, and jointly explored opportunities for implementing advanced technological solutions in water supply and wastewater management.
An important outcome of the meeting was the official signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation between Khmelnytskyi National University and the Khmelnytskyi Municipal Water Utility. The document formalises the parties’ commitment to developing a long-term partnership in the fields of education, research, innovation, student practical training, joint research projects, and participation in international grant programmes. It marks an important step towards strengthening cooperation between the University and the utility, aimed at introducing modern technologies into municipal infrastructure, preparing highly qualified specialists, and enhancing the innovation potential of the Khmelnytskyi community.
