Project duration: December 1, 2013 - March 1, 2017.
The partners of Khmelnytskyi National University in the project are World University - Austrian Service Committee (Austria), Budapest University of Technology and Economics (Hungary), University of Girona (Spain), Royal Institute of Technology (Sweden), National Aerospace University “Kharkiv Aviation Institute” (Ukraine), International Science and Technology University (Ukraine), Sevastopol Institute of Banking of the University of Banking of the National Bank of Ukraine (Ukraine), Hetman Petro Konashevych-Sahaidachnyi Kyiv State Academy of Water Transport (Ukraine), Dniprodzerzhynsk State Technical University (Ukraine), Ukrainian Students' Association (Ukraine), LLC "Center of Innovative Engineering Technologies" (Ukraine), Association of Small Business Enterprises (Ukraine), Transcarpathian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Ukraine), Ukrainian Institute of Scientific, Technical and Economic of Information (Ukraine), Dnipropetrovsk Aggregate Plant (Ukraine), Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine (Ukraine).
Project goal and objectives:
- Establish and equip 6 Knowledge Transfer Units (KTUs) in all universities of the partner countries in the first half of the project implementation, which will serve as technology transfer structures and data sources for the development of interdisciplinary curriculum modules;
- Modernize and develop the curriculum by modifying existing/developing new practice-oriented modules and implementing them in all universities of the partner countries in the second half of the project as the result of KTUs activities;
- Develop partnerships with enterprises and the knowledge triangle: education-science-innovation.
Areas of activity in the frames of the project:
- Development of a KTU strategy based on the experience and best practices of EU partners, development of the tools that already exist in the relevant universities of partner countries, if any. спираючись на інструменти, які вже існують у відповідних університетах країн-партнерів, якщо такі є.
- Establishment of KTU.
- Equipping the KTU.
- Recruitment of staff for the KTU.
- Training of KTU staff.
- Development of specific actions and business plans for all KTUs.
- Development of tools and services for each KTU and their application in real pilot projects.
- Development of training programs based on materials received from enterprises in the framework of cooperation on KTU projects.
- Quality control and monitoring of KTUs.
- Developing a financial sustainability plan for the project.
- Dissemination of project results to all stakeholders.
Expected results:
- A KTU strategy based on the experience and best practices of EU partners, building on activities that already exist in the respective universities of the partner countries.
- The KTUs will be established in partner country universities based on already existing relevant centers (e.g. technology, innovation centers), which will allow them to build cooperation with other university administrations, as well as make the establishment process faster and easier, as well as the use of already established strategies.
- All KTUs will be equipped with essential office equipment and rapid prototyping technology (RPT) in the first half of the project. They will be supported by EU partners and receive their advice (including technical specifications and feedback) in this process.
- The KTU staff will be selected according to the specifications and requirements defined by the project coordinator, taking into account feedback from all EU and partner countries.
- Training of KTU staff.
- University of Girona, as the project leader, will be involved in the development of specific actions and business plans for all KTUs.
- The portfolio of tools and services of each KTU will be developed in cooperation with universities from partner countries and EU partners.
- Once the KTUs are established, and the portfolio of KTU tools and services is developed, a call for proposals will be prepared and opened for companies.
- Development and implementation of interdisciplinary labor market-oriented modules (new or modernized) in each university of the partner countries through cooperation between technical and business universities.
- To develop national academic exchange and cooperation, interdisciplinary modules of the curricula will be developed jointly by the two partner universities (National Aerospace University “Kharkiv Aviation Institute” - Sevastopol Institute of Banking of the University of Banking of the National Bank of Ukraine (Ukraine), International Science and Technology University - Khmelnytskyi National University, Dniprodzerzhynsk State Technical University - Kyiv State Academy of Water Transport ), with one part of the module taught by a lecturer from a partner university.
- Quality control and monitoring of the project implementation and project management plan will be carried out by EU partners and partner country universities.
- Financial sustainability plan developed and adopted by KTU and partner country universities.
- Dissemination of the project ideas and results to the broader community.
