Participation of Associate Professor of the Department of Computer Engineering and Information Systems Iryna Zasornova in the Summer School of Adam Mickiewicz University (Poznan, Poland)

Associate Professor of the Department of Computer Engineering and Information Systems Iryna Zasornova participated in the summer school of the Adam Mickiewicz University (Poznan, Poland) “Internationalization at Home through Virtual Exchange: Creating a Motivational Environment for Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) III” from 07.07.2024 to 13.07.2024.

During the visit, the coordinator of the summer school, Kostyantyn Mazur, introduced participants to the structure of the Adam Mickiewicz University and highlighted the prospects for cooperation with Ukrainian universities.

Dr. Anna Basinska conducted trainings on the following topics:

1. “Introduction to internationalization”.

2. “Local and global trends in higher education”

3. “Rankings in higher education and internationalization at home”.

At the end of the theoretical part, representatives of Ukrainian universities had the opportunity to discuss the tasks and challenges that may arise during virtual exchanges at roundtables.

Katarzyna Radke conducted trainings on the following topics:

1. «Підготовка до COIL: прийняття традиційного викладання та орієнтація на виклики для майбутнього освіти».

2. “COIL project design: setting clear goals, assigning appropriate tasks, and choosing effective tools for intercultural online collaboration”.

3. “Learning about different COIL formats: from individual classes to joint courses, understanding the range of possibilities.”

The lecturer also covered the issues of the education system, intercultural awareness and cooperation, implementation of problem-based learning, etc.

Anna Kwasniewska conducted trainings on the following topics:

1. “Utilizing the opportunities and challenges of interdisciplinary COIL courses: strategies for teachers and students to overcome learning barriers”.

2. “Showcasing AMU projects and international best practices: get inspired to implement COIL at your university”.

At the final stage, they took part in a workshop to develop their own COIL projects.
