On March 30, 2024, Head of the Department of Computer Engineering and Information Systems, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Tetyana Hovorushchenko, Associate Professor of the Department of Computer Engineering and Information Systems, Doctor of Philosophy Olha Pavlova, and Associate Professor of the Department of Computer Engineering and Information Systems, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor Iryna Zasornova conducted a training session for students entitled "Earth Day Eco Saturday" as part of the international project NAWA GTUA education.
During the training, the trainers summarised the results of the previous NAWA GTUA project, familiarised students with the goals and objectives of the new NAWA GTUA education project, and discussed the UN's Sustainable Development Goals for 2030.
Students worked with Green Cards, applied the "Business Model Canvas" strategic startup management tool, worked in teams to develop eco-startup ideas, and practised the new Pecha Kucha presentation methodology as part of their work on the "green education" component of the international NAWA GTUA education project.
In addition, as part of the training, the infrastructure of Khmelnytskyi National University was greened. Students and trainers planted two symbolic trees in front of the entrance to academic building No. 1 – a "one" (which the CEIS department purchased with its own funds) and a "zero," symbols of IT professionals. In addition, on the initiative of the CEIS department, five sorting containers were installed in the lobby of academic building No. 1 – for hazardous waste, metal, paper, glass, and plastic. In this way, we also worked on the "green campus" component of the international NAWA GTUA education project.
Let's make our university greener together!
