Students of the Department of German Philology and Translation Studies took part in a practical online meeting "Soft Skills Without Embellishment: how to achieve success and avoid burnout," which took place on April 24 with the participation of Yevheniia Topalova, project manager at ESBAU, an international company specializing in the creation of exhibition stands at the international level. During the online meeting "Soft Skills Without Embellishment: How to Achieve Success and Avoid Burnout," Yevgeniya shared practical advice on effective communication, time management, and work organization, and also talked about the challenges faced by professionals in an international environment. Her experience in project management and participation in international exhibitions make her an expert in intercultural communication and stress resistance — skills that are extremely important for modern professionals.
This meeting was far from a standard theoretical lecture. Students discussed the real challenges professionals face in today’s world: working under deadlines, stress management, the specifics of intercultural communication, overcoming cultural barriers, and responding to discrimination.
During the event, students had the opportunity to learn:

✔️how to maintain inner stability and emotional balance in stressful situations;
✔️how to respond quickly and calmly to crisis situations;
✔️how to recognize toxic situations and avoid emotional burnout.
In addition, participants received useful tips on time management, practical techniques for effective communication, organisation of working time, and recommendations for useful literature for further self-development.
The meeting was useful for those planning to pursue careers in translation, management, diplomacy, public relations, or other fields where communication skills are key to success.
The event was organised by Margaryta Berezhna, Associate Professor of the Department of Theory and Practice of Translation at Zaporizhzhia National University, who invited our students to join an interesting and informative discussion.
