Project objective:
To empower refugees by equipping them with the necessary skills to start and operate successful tourism businesses, with a strong focus on innovation and entrepreneurship.
Project tasks:
- Provide refugees with training and education to gain the skills and knowledge needed to establish and manage tourism enterprises.
- Promote innovation and entrepreneurship among refugees as a means of achieving economic independence and social integration.
- Support the growth and development of refugee-led tourism businesses.
- Address barriers to entrepreneurship, including language obstacles, lack of access to capital, and limited professional networks.
Expected Results:
1) Develop a training handbook and digital badge for refugees on how to start and run a tourism business. These tools will provide foundational knowledge and practical guidance.
2) Measured Use of the Handbook: 300 downloads are expected in six languages—English (50), Flemish (50), Ukrainian (50), Turkish (50), Arabic (50), and Croatian (50)—representing the languages of partner countries and the two most significant refugee populations
in Europe (Syria and Ukraine).
3) Creation of Digital Learning Tools: A website and mobile application will be developed containing concise educational materials on tourism entrepreneurship for refugees.
4) Measured Use of the App: 300 downloads are also projected for the mobile app in the same six languages.
