From October 7–9, 2024, Anastasiia Zarzhytska, a specialist from Khmelnytskyi National University's International Relations Department, participated in a meeting of International Relations Officers (IROs) from the Baltic University Programme (BUP). This was the first time in the initiative's more than 30-year history that such an event took place in this format. The event was hosted by Ostrava University, Czech Republic.
The meeting served as a unique platform for exchanging experiences among representatives from over 90 BUP member universities from the Baltic Sea region and Central and Eastern Europe. The discussions focused on topics of international cooperation, internationalization strategies, the development of university networks, engaging students in sustainable development, and opportunities for funding joint projects.
The event program included panel presentations, workshops, group discussions, and thematic presentations on issues such as:
- International university alliances (e.g., U!REKA, ENLIGHT, EU-CONEXUS).
- Challenges and opportunities for small universities in the internationalization process.
- Synergy between sustainable development and international activities.
- The role of IROs in building effective partnerships and supporting student initiatives.
Khmelnytskyi National University's participation in such an event is a significant step towards enhancing its international visibility, integrating into European educational initiatives, and expanding cooperation with universities in the Baltic Sea region.
