On May 14, an online meeting took place between Khmelnytskyi National University and representatives of the British Council in Ukraine. Participating in the meeting were Kateryna Skyba, Vice-rector for scientific and pedagogical work, and Liudmyla Remishevska, Head of the International Relations Department. From the British Council, Yuliia Sobol, Head of Education Programs, and Vita Svitlychna, Gender Equality Programs Manager, joined the discussion.
During the meeting, the parties discussed potential areas of cooperation between the university and the British Council, an international organisation representing the United Kingdom in cultural relations and education.
A key topic of the meeting was Khmelnytskyi National University's participation in the "3R SheLeader: Resilience, Resourcefulness, Results" project, which aims to support gender equality and promote women's leadership in higher education.
British Council representatives highlighted the importance of local leadership in implementing educational changes, confirmed their openness to cooperation with Ukrainian higher education institutions, and expressed readiness to support initiatives aimed at ensuring equal rights and opportunities. This support includes experience sharing, expert guidance, and participation in thematic programs.
For Khmelnytskyi National University, this project represents the first major step in implementing a gender equality policy. The university highly values the British Council’s support as a reliable partner whose expertise and openness to innovative approaches contribute to fostering a sustainable environment of equal opportunities in higher education.
