On 14 January 2026, Anastasiia Zarzhytska, a leading specialist of the International Relations Office of Khmelnytskyi National University, took part in the online meeting “International Opportunities for Ukrainian Universities: Programs and Initiatives from the British Embassy (Chevening) and Cormack Consultancy Group (University Twinning),”organised by the Global Coalition for Ukrainian Studies.
The event was held online and brought together representatives of Ukrainian higher education institutions, heads of international offices, project coordinators, lecturers, and researchers interested in developing cooperation with British partners. The main aim of the meeting was to present current programs, initiatives, and practical instruments of international cooperation available to Ukrainian universities.

During the meeting, a representative of the British Embassy in Ukraine, Anastasiia Horashchenko, presented opportunities offered by the Chevening program, focusing on its role in developing human capital, fostering academic mobility, and establishing long-term ties between Ukraine and the United Kingdom. The scholarship program manager also emphasised the importance of involving Ukrainian universities in international educational and research networks, even in the context of wartime challenges.

Представник Cormack Consultancy Group, директор ініціативи The Twinning A representative of Cormack Consultancy Group, Oleksandr Smyrnov, Director of the Twinning initiative, shared practical case studies of partnerships between Ukrainian and British universities. He spoke about possible formats of cooperation, institutional twinning partnerships, and support in preparing joint project proposals. Participants received valuable information on mechanisms for launching joint initiatives, developing university communities, and strengthening the international presence of Ukrainian higher education institutions.

During the meeting, Svitlana Shytikova, Project Coordinator of the National Erasmus+ Office in Ukraine, gave special attention to opportunities for further cooperation with European and British partners in the field of Ukrainian/Ukraine Studies, as well as within the Jean Monnet program and other educational and research initiatives. Participants were invited to contribute to the development of joint project ideas and inter-university consortia.
The participation of a representative of Khmelnytskyi National University in this meeting is part of the university’s systematic efforts to expand international contacts, identify new partnerships, and integrate the university into the European and global educational space. The information obtained during the event will serve as a practical basis for the further development of cooperation between KNU and British and international institutions, as well as for the preparation of joint educational and research projects.
The online meeting confirmed that cooperation within the Global Coalition for Ukrainian Studies is not merely declarative but has a practical character and opens real opportunities for sustainable international development for Ukrainian universities, even under today’s challenging circumstances.
