KhNU at the Kick-off Meeting of the International Erasmus+ ReGrow Project

On January 22–23, 2025, Kateryna Skyba, Vice-Rector for Research, Academic Affairs, and International Relations at Khmelnytskyi National University, and Andrii Martyniuk, Head of the Department of Industrial Engineering and Agroengineering, participated in the kick-off meeting for the international Erasmus+ project ReGrow: Rebuilding Growth in Agriculture in Post-Conflict Ukraine & Transitioning Georgia.

The meeting was coordinated by the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Greece) and included representatives from universities, non-governmental organisations, and ministries from Ukraine, Georgia, Germany, and Greece.

During the event, the Khmelnytskyi National University team presented the university as one of the project's key Ukrainian partners. They shared their expertise in agroengineering and mechanical engineering and discussed the main implementation stages and expected outcomes of the project.

The ReGrow project is being implemented under the Erasmus+ CBHE (Capacity Building in Higher Education) program. It aims to create a joint Master's program in precision agriculture, develop laboratory infrastructure, implement quality assurance mechanisms for education, and strengthen academic cooperation between the EU and partner countries undergoing post-conflict recovery.

The importance of this project for Ukraine is immense. In the post-war period, as the country rebuilds its agricultural infrastructure, ReGrow facilitates the integration of European educational practices into Ukraine's higher agricultural education. This includes enhancing the professional training of future agroengineers, developing modern training laboratories, and implementing innovative teaching approaches. This initiative not only strengthens the potential of Ukrainian higher education institutions but also supports the sustainable development of rural areas and the economic resilience of war-affected regions.

KhNU is proud to be part of this large-scale initiative aimed at the innovative rethinking of agricultural education and supporting Ukraine's recovery.
