Khmelnytskyi National University joins the European innovation ecosystem: participation in the EIT Urban Mobility Info Session

On November 19, 2025, Pavlo Radiuk, Associate Professor of the Department of Computer Science at Khmelnytskyi National University, took part in the EIT Urban Mobility Info Session online. The university representative's participation in this event contributes to the implementation of Horizon Europe “U_CAN: Ukraine on the path to carbon neutrality,"which is being implemented at Khmelnytskyi National University. The topics of the info session aligned with the project's key objectives and provided an opportunity to obtain relevant information, learn about modern European approaches, and deepen the expert knowledge necessary for its effective implementation.

The info session dedicated to EIT Urban Mobility was aimed at researchers, innovators, and startup teams working in digital technologies, digitisation, and urban mobility. During the event, program representatives presented:

  • open grant competitions for 2025;
  • opportunities to enter the European market through partnerships;
  • formats for working with the "living labs" network;
  • support for Ukrainian institutions and projects.

Participants were particularly interested in tools for testing urban solutions in real-world conditions and in the RAPTOR (Rapid Applications for Transport) program of rapid innovation competitions, which enables quick responses to urban challenges.

Pavlo Radiuk noted the strategic value of Khmelnytskyi National University's participation in such events. In his words: "The KHNU team continues to integrate into the European scientific space. The info session opened up new prospects for cooperation, particularly in the direction of adaptive traffic management and the development of "green" urban solutions. We plan to actively use EIT Urban Mobility tools, including open competitions and matchmaking, as well as networks of living labs. The main goal is to accelerate the implementation of environmental and technological innovations in the pilot cities of the U_CAN project." від відкритих конкурсів та матчмейкінгу до мереж живих лабораторій. Participation in the EIT Urban Mobility Info Session is not only access to grant support and partner networks, but also an opportunity to influence the formation of future urban solutions in Europe. For KHNU, this means:

  • expanding collaborations with EU structures;
  • the opportunity to launch joint research and technological projects;
  • involving students and teachers in international innovation mobility programs;
  • developing competencies in the fields of sustainable urbanism and digital technologies.

The involvement of university specialists in such professional events contributes to strengthening the scientific and educational potential of Khmelnytskyi National University, enhancing the capabilities of the U_CAN team, and implementing innovative solutions in accordance with the requirements and standards of the European innovation environment.
