Khmelnytskyi National University – Partner of the New Erasmus+ International Project “Trauma-informed Teaching (STEP)”

Khmelnytskyi National University has won a grant in the Erasmus+ Cooperation Partnerships competition and has become a partner of the new international project “Trauma-informed Teaching (STEP)”.

The project will run for two years and is aimed at developing the competences of higher education teachers to effectively teach students who have experienced traumatic events (refugees, migrants, asylum seekers and others).

The project is coordinated by Savonia University of Applied Sciences (Finland). Alongside Khmelnytskyi National University, the partners include FH Joanneum Gesellschaft MBH (Austria), Duale Hochschule Baden-Württemberg Villingen-Schwenningen (Germany) and IMIN – Institute for Migration and Intercultural Studies (Croatia).

From Khmelnytskyi National University, the project is represented by Kateryna Skyba, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Professor, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences. The Faculty of Health, Psychology, Physical Education and Sport will also be engaged, ensuring the effective implementation of the project’s objectives and tasks.

Participation in this project opens new opportunities for the development of inclusive and trauma-informed approaches in higher education, contributes to improving the quality of teaching and the integration of students from diverse socio-cultural backgrounds, and further strengthens KhNU’s position in the international educational arena.
