From 15 to 19 June 2026, Liudmyla Remishevska, Head of the International Relations Office at Khmelnytskyi National University (KhNU), took part in the international Staff Week held under the Erasmus+ programme “Green and Circular University Campus – From Vision to Practice.” The event was hosted by the Silesian University of Technology (SUT) in Gliwice, Poland.

The programme focused on current issues in sustainable higher education, the implementation of green and circular campus principles, and the development of innovative approaches to environmental management, energy efficiency, and the social responsibility of higher education institutions.
During the programme, participants explored contemporary European practices in managing university infrastructure in accordance with sustainability principles. Particular attention was given to the quality of the campus indoor environment, environmental safety, environmental monitoring, and the implementation of health-promoting initiatives within the student community.

The event also included presentations by participants on their institutional experience, during which representatives of various European universities exchanged best practices for implementing green development and internationalisation projects. The programme featured thematic discussions on the circular economy in universities, bio-waste management, renewable energy development, and improving campus energy efficiency.
Considerable attention was devoted to the social dimension of universities’ activities and their “third mission” — engagement with society, the promotion of environmental awareness, and the development of responsible attitudes towards climate change. Participants also discussed the role of the Erasmus+ programme in advancing academic mobility, international cooperation, and innovative educational practices.
During the event, Liudmyla Remishevska also met with Sofia Mahliona, a KhNU student studying at the Silesian University of Technology for the semester. The student shared her positive experience of participating in the academic mobility programme, highlighting the high quality of education, the welcoming academic environment, and opportunities for professional and personal development.

Liudmyla Remishevska’s participation in the International Staff Week contributed to the acquisition of new knowledge and competencies in sustainable development and the internationalisation of higher education. It also helped expand professional contacts with representatives of European universities and strengthen KhNU’s partnerships with higher education institutions across Europe. The experience gained and the international connections established will provide a foundation for further cooperation, the implementation of joint projects, and expanded academic mobility opportunities for students and university staff.
One example of the successful implementation of international cooperation and academic mobility is Sofia Mahliona’s studies under the Erasmus+ programme. We invite you to watch the video in which she shares her impressions of studying abroad, discusses student life in Poland, and describes the opportunities available through participation in the Erasmus+ programme.
