Khmelnytskyi National University Joins an Online Meeting with the University of Nottingham

On January 9, 2026, Khmelnytskyi National University participated in an introductory online meeting with representatives from the University of Nottingham (United Kingdom). The event was held with the support of the Khmelnytskyi Regional Military Administration and the Khmelnytskyi Oblast Regional Development Agency.

From the Khmelnytskyi Regional Military Administration, the meeting was attended by Volodymyr Yuriev, Deputy Head of the Administration,as well as representatives of the Department of Economic Development of the Administration and the Agency for Regional Development of Khmelnytskyi Oblast.

The University of Nottingham was represented by David Ouchterlony,Director of Global Partnerships, and Jim Green, Acting Deputy Director for Strategic Partnerships.

Khmelnytskyi National University was represented at the meeting by Kateryna Skyba, Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogic Affairs. In her address, she presented the educational and research potential of Khmelnytskyi National University and outlined promising areas for international cooperation.

Particular emphasis was placed on the practice-oriented areas of the university’s activities, including the work of the Energy Efficiency Centre and the implementation of projects to install rooftop solar power plants, which are highly relevant in the context of current energy challenges.

During the meeting, participants exchanged views on the development of partnerships in the fields of education, research, sustainable development and regional cooperation, and discussed opportunities for participation in international programmes and projects.

Following the meeting, the parties confirmed their interest in continuing the dialogue and elaborating concrete formats of cooperation, taking into account the priorities of the Khmelnytskyi region and the capabilities of the University of Nottingham.
