From May 21 to 23, 2025, the city of Wroc\u0142aw (Poland) hosted a three-day U_CAN Project Consortium meeting in a hybrid format, organised by Wroc\u0142aw University of Science and Technology. The event brought together representatives from Ukraine and European Union countries to review interim project results, strengthen partnerships, and jointly define next steps toward achieving climate neutrality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Khmelnytskyi National University was represented by project working group members \u2014 Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work Kateryna Skyba and Professor of the Department of Computer Sciences Eduard Manziuk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the first day of the meeting, participants focused on presenting the completed tasks. Each partner shared their achievements, practical experiences, and challenges faced during the implementation of work packages. Eduard Manziuk presented the results and developments of Khmelnytskyi National University, emphasising the institution\u2019s role in implementing innovative solutions aimed at achieving climate neutrality in the city of Khmelnytskyi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The second day was dedicated to strategic planning. Working in thematic groups, participants outlined priority areas for the upcoming year, defined specific tasks, and discussed ways to strengthen cooperation between pilot cities, technical experts, and stakeholder engagement teams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The third day of the meeting centred on bilateral sessions between Ukrainian pilot cities and the EU Mission Cities for Climate Neutrality. These sessions were held jointly with partner municipalities. Khmelnytskyi received support from the EU Mission Cities \u2014 Dresden (Germany) and Bratislava (Slovakia), which shared their experience and will assist in the implementation of ecological and digital solutions in the city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thanks to this partnership, Khmelnytskyi National University gained valuable tools for adapting European experience, strengthening institutional capacity, and accelerating sustainable transformations at the local level. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The U_CAN project is of strategic importance for Ukraine in the context of European integration and the ecological transition. Its goal is to support Ukrainian cities on their path to climate neutrality through the implementation of innovations, the development of sustainable policies, active public engagement, and the establishment of partnerships with European municipalities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The meeting in Wroc\u0142aw marked an important milestone in the project\u2019s implementation, providing participants with an effective platform for experience sharing, discussion of challenges, presentation of innovative practices, and the development of a shared vision for future steps. It also contributed to a deeper understanding of each partner\u2019s role in achieving the project\u2019s objectives and laid the foundation for closer cooperation in the next stages of its implementation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
