From July 8 to 19, 2024, students of Khmelnytskyi National University took part in the JASSY summer school (a Journey through life and hArd sciences, economics, social sciences and the tourism industrY), organized by the Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iasi (Iasi, Romania).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The school was attended by 74 students from 15 countries: Algeria, Belgium, China, Denmark, Germany, Iran, Italy, Korea, the Netherlands, Moldova, Romania, Turkey, Ukraine, the United Kingdom, and the United States.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our university was represented by students of the School of International Relations and Law: Sofia Dragomeretska, a student of the group MEV-23-1 majoring in International Economic Relations, Olga Tsybukh, a student of the group SOA-22 majoring in Secondary Education. English Language and Foreign Literature\u201d, and Yelyzaveta Kvik, a student of the group MEV-22-1, specialty \u2018International Economic Relations\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The opening of the school took place on Monday, July 8, 2024, with the participation of the Vice-Rector for International Relations and professors from the University of Jassy named after Alexandru Ioan Cusa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

74 participants had the opportunity to take part in one of the four interdisciplinary modules or in two modules of the economic direction, which were also offered this year:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

- The crucial role of life sciences in finding solutions for human well-being and environmental sustainability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

- Natural sciences: an interdisciplinary tour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

- Eastern European perspectives on culture, history, and integration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

- Tourism on the EU's eastern border: interdisciplinary training for guides.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

- Strategic management of human resources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

- Financial and risk management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Olha Tsybukh and Yelyzaveta Kvik chose the module Tourism on the EU's Eastern Border. The girls took part in comprehensive activities that included lectures, seminars, workshops, debates and guided tours. The topics covered various aspects of tourism, including preservation of cultural and natural heritage, integration of new technologies, tourist mapping, the role of climate, urban environment and sustainable tourism development. They also covered methods of promoting tourist destinations, the use of sign language, communication skills, and the art of storytelling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sofia Dragomeretska chose the Finance and Risk Management module. She gained a general understanding of the practical and theoretical aspects of financial decisions of firms and their application in the development of business strategy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The summer school program was complemented by a variety of socio-cultural activities: walking tours of the city center and botanical garden, tours of the historic tram, kayaking, and debates on current challenges in Eastern Europe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
